The course, measured by the Jones Counter method, is mostly along level country lanes. Minimum entry age is 15. Prizes are awarded to the first three men and women, the first veteran man and woman, the first under 18, and the first person resident in the parish.

The money raised is for maintaining and improving the village playing field (which is also the village's War Memorial).
