Stoke St Gregory has a population of approximately 1000. The residents happily confirm that it is a good place to live having a diverse mixture of housing and strong supportive neighbourhoods.
Living here affords many benefits such as ;
a Primary school and pre-school, 2 churches,
a village shop,
2 pub /restaurants, a playing field,
a new village hall and a regular bus service to Taunton.
There is a G.P. surgery nearby in North Curry as well as a post office (3 miles) and for all other facilities the county town of Taunton is just 10 miles away to the West, with the smaller settlement of Langport just 4 miles to the East .
Stoke St Gregory is situated at the heart of Somerset and offers easy access to many attractions and places of interest through travelling less than 1 hour by road. There are the beaches of North Somerset and East Devon, the National parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor, the Quantock hills and both the cities of Bristol and Exeter.
For a village the size of Stoke St Gregory you will be surprised to discover how much commercial activity takes place. Tourism and agriculture are well represented and apart from that there a number of businesses, some of which are renowned nationally and internationally. There is a low rate of unemployment in the village.

Accommodation stretches between camping on the farm to 5 star self catering with private pool, including a number of Bed and breakfast establishments.
You can enjoy plenty of peace and quiet around the village.
Spend your time walking the miles of footpaths taking in the breathtaking views of the levels. Or visit the Willows and Wetlands centre where you can learn all about the traditional willow industry. How about sampling the yummy organic icecream produced by Granny Gothard on a local farm? Make sure to check out their opening times.
Do all that before you start exploring Taunton or many of the other small towns and villages, cycle along the Taunton to Bridgwater canal, check out Dartmoor or Exmoor or wet your toes at one of the many beautiful beaches at an hours leisurely drive. The Cathedral city of Wells , or the towns of Glastonbury or Street are all less than a half hours’ journey.
