Footpaths &Wildlife

The network of paths is in good order, and all are walkable at all times. This is due to the appointment of a footpath officer, David Lake, and the support he gets from the Parish Council and Taunton Deane Borough Council. Of all the paths, the steps in Slough Lane, known as "The Clammer" are perhaps the most picturesque.

At the annual parish meeting, David Lake reported that two footbridges had been redecked. One footpath had been illegally ploughed up, the landowner had agreed to reinstate it but it was not known if this had been done. The stile on T25/11 has been completely replaced. The path from Woodhill to Stathe has been surveyed and is due to be completely overhauled but it is not possible to gain access to the land at present. The path behind Huntham Close is open on its original route pending further meetings. The path alongside part of the river Tone will be closed later in the year due to flood defence work. Alternative routes will be suggested
