Young trees were made available by Taunton Deane Borough Council for a tree planting scheme. The scheme was so successful that David Lake, the tree warden, had to send off for a second set of application forms. The year's supply of trees went quickly and anyone wanting trees had to apply again in August.

Spaces have been left where dead elms have been felled and need replacing. We have not recovered from the years of Dutch Elm Disease which changed our landscape, perhaps for ever.
