STOKE ST GREGORY PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on
Monday 9th January 2006, 7.30pm in the Church Room.
Present Julia Clewes (Chairman), Sue Hembrow,
David House, Ian Parker, Chris Pitman,Trevor Williams , Robert Hembrow , Irene Browning , John Hembrow.
David Lake (footpath officer), Cllr Nobby Clarke (Somerset County Council)
In attendance Tony McKenzie (Clerk).
Public Question Time There were no members of the public present.
Apologies
- None.Declarations of Interest: Robert Hembrow declared an interest in the report on correspondence received re Holly Farm complex prior to the item being discussed.
Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes dated Monday 12th December 2005 were agreed to be a correct record of that meeting and signed by the Chairman.

Matters Arising
Footpaths DL reported that the damaged bridge on T25/32 had been removed and a Bristol gate installed.
JC reported a blocked domestic drain going over the footpath in Polkesfield. TW agreed to visit the occupiers on 10th Jan.
JC reported the pavement near the bus shelter required clearing of leaves as it was slippery and also that the rubbish bin at the shelter had not been emptied for 3 weeks. The Clerk was asked to pursue this with Taunton Deane DLO.

Highways TW reported that the pothole at Churley had been dealt with and that the mud had been removed from the road where the ditch was cleared in Huntham Lane.
The Clerk reported that that he had received an acknowledgement note from the Portfolio Holder for Highways for the Councils letter of 13th December 2005 re the winter maintenance service and was asked to pursue a reply.

Low cost housing The Clerk was asked to write to Falcon Housing to obtain a list of the successful applicants.
Planning
36/2005/24 Erection of agricultural workers dwelling and formation of access thereto at Hancox Farm
TDBC have advised conditional approval.
36/2005/017 Notice of Appeal re Site at Higher House Farm.
The clerk was asked to write to the Planning Inspectorate stating that the Council did not want
the Planning Authorities to set a precedent in respect of retrospective applications for
unauthorised work in such a sensitive area.
The Council has no objections to this application36/2005/025 Erection of extension to dwelling to replace conservatory at Old Station House, Curload.
36/2005/026 Erection of 2 storey extension to front and side of dwelling at Lovells Farm
House, Stoke St. Gregory.The Council has no objections to this application.
Letter/proforma re New Village Hall. The Clerk was asked to return the proforma to TDBC stating that work commenced on 14th November 2005.
Report on correspondence received re Holly Farm complex.
(RH expressed a prejudicial interest as the owner of the holly farm complex and left the meeting)
The Clerk reported on the correspondence received and it was agreed by all present for the Clerk to refer the matter to TDBC Planning who are the enforcing authority.

483 J. Clewes 12.99 Farewell gift to Clerk
It was agreed that the above cheques should be passed for payment. Proposed: TW, seconded: IP, All in favour.
Precept The form notifying TDBC of the precept required for 2006/7 agreed at the Council meeting on 12th December 2005 was signed by the Chairman, IB and SH .
Correspondence
(1) Citizens Advice Bureau request for a donation to go on next agenda
(7) Planning Training for Parish Councils 31st Jan 06 CP and TW to attend
(8) Proposed structure for new partnership to replace LAMP and PCP to go on next agenda.
Taunton Deane Citizenship Award DH to discuss with Clerk

First Aid Course 2 members of the public were interested plus JC, SH, TW, CP. To go on
agenda for next meeting
Dogs JC reported a dog had been running loose in the square/Willey Road. No further
action to be taken as owner cannot be identified
SH asked for the migration of the Village Hall Newsletter into a village newsletter to go
on the next agenda.
Date/Venue of Annual Parish Meeting This was agreed for Monday 24th April in the
Church Room.
There being no further business the meeting closed at 9.10pm.

Date of Annual Parish Council Meeting Monday 8th May, to be followed by an ordinary meeting of the Parish Council.
