As recently reported, the Parish Council would like to encourage a limited amount of building development as part of our strategy for ensuring the long-term viability of the village. In theory District planning policy is opposed to any development on green field sites in this parish, but since the pressure for house-building nationally is mounting, and there are other factors that can be brought to bear, we believe that the chances of planning applications being successful are increasing, especially if they conform to what the village specifically needs, namely well-designed smaller houses with high eco credentials.

We would like it to be generally known, especially by those with suitable land close to the centre of the village, or with the potential for infill development or brown field sites, that small scale proposals for development would be looked on favourably by the Parish Council, at least until we feel that the quota has been reached. Please contact any parish councillor if you would like to discuss this.
