STOKE ST GREGORY PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on
Monday 13th October 2008 in the Meeting Room, Williams Hall.

56. Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes of the meeting held on Monday 8th September 2008 were agreed by all to be a
correct record of that meeting and signed by the Chairman.
57. Matters Arising
Footpaths As PK could not attend the meeting no report was received.
Highways PS reported that he had discussed the problem of heavy traffic in Curload with
Highways and that this would be looked at after the work in North Curry had been
completed and traffic levels returned to normal in Curload.
Affordable Housing The Clerk reported on correspondence received from Falcon Housing
re the number of applications received . It was agreed by all that this should be published in
the next village newsletter and the Clerk to follow up with Falcon Housing
58. Planning
36/2008/008 Following discussion it was agreed by all to support the application as it would
improve the existing building and have no effect on the local area.

59. Financial Matters
Authorisation of cheques for payment
581 A.A. McKenzie Clerks salary and expenses £ 470.05
582 Smith of Derby Repairs to Church Clock £ 176.25
583 Royal British Legion Annual donation to Poppy Appeal £ 55.00
584 Victim Support Somerset Donation £ 25.00
585 Stoke St. Gregory Playing Field Annual grant for Insurance £ 185.00
586 WM direct Printing of village newsletter £ 56.00
It was agreed by all that the cheques be signed
Changes to bank signatories The Clerk advised that the forms were still being completed
and identification taken to the bank by the new signatories
60. Correspondence
The Chairman highlighted items1,3,4,and 7 on the correspondence list and following
discussion it was agreed by all that
Item 3 – Councillors should record their comments on the questionnaire and discuss this at
the December meeting.
Item 7 – TW/FQ should attend the meeting on November 10th. PS to follow up with North
Curry Parish Council re forming a group of 4 parishes to discuss the subject.
The correspondence was put on circulation to all Councillors.
61. Regilding of Church Clock
The Clerk updated the Council on the reply received from Smith of Derby on estimated costs
for doing this work next year. Following discussion it was agreed by all that the Clerk
should include the proposed figures in the schedule for next year’s precept to be discussed
at the December meeting and JH should follow up on the reply from the PCC re their
proposed contribution.
62. Stoke Stampede 2008 – Notification of road closures
The Chairman reported on the road closures agreed by T.D.B.C. It was agreed by all that
Councillors should report any major defects on the proposed route to TW ASAP so that they
could be reported to Highways for rectification prior to the event.
63. Feedback from Meetings IB reported on the meeting held re the proposed village welcome
leaflet and advised that a further meeting would be held.
TW reported on the meeting held with North Curry re green issues and advised that 4
groups had been formed with representatives from both villages.
64. Any other items for discussion
The Clerk reported on correspondence received from SALC re the Freedom of Information
Act and advised that action is required before 1st. January 2009. The Clerk gave copies to all
Councillors present and agreed to circulate copies to Councillors not present. All Councillors
must read this information prior to discussions at the December meeting
The next meetings will be held on
Monday 27th October 2008 at 7.30pm to discuss planning applications
Monday 8th December at 7.30pm - Parish Council meeting
Both meetings will be held in the meeting room at the Williams Hall.
Councillors were reminded that there will not be a meeting of the Council in November.
There being no further business the meeting closed at 8.30pm.
