The
majority of people travel to work and the shops by car. Also the majority of
people do not experience any difficulty in getting to the Health Centre or Post
Office.
However,
13% of the people living in the Parish do have difficulty in accessing these
services and getting into Taunton
.
8%
of people use public transport at least once a month but the majority of people
never use it. Improvements to the
route, timetable, cost and reliability might encourage more people to use public
transport.
ACTION
PLAN
The Parish Council should review access to transport, public and private, for
the households which are unable to access essential services and shopping.
The
Parish Council should consider the options for reducing private car use including
car sharing, and improvements to public transport.
The Parish Council should consider developing village minibus transport scheme.
The Parish Council should assess whether a car share scheme should be set up
and contact respondents who expressed a desire to join such a scheme.
