Stoke St Gregory Parish Council – Consultation on Infrastructure Spending Priorities

Over the past few months you may have become aware of something called the Community Infrastructure Levy or CIL. This is intended to provide funding from developers to be spent on improving infrastructure within the area.

As a result of recent developments, we, as a village, need to make some decisions on where we would like any available funds to be spent. The first step in this process is to ask you, and your families, to let us at the Parish Council know where you think the funds would be best invested.

To this end we have produced a questionnaire which we would like you to complete and return to us. The questionnaire will be delivered to every property in the village and will also be available online at www.stokestgregory.org, copies will also be available for collection from The Village Shop.

We would ask you to select the four areas most important to you for spending and share your reasons why. The list of areas is not exhaustive and if there are any other areas where you think that spending would be appropriate then please add them to the bottom of the list along with your reasons.

We would ask that you consult with your whole family when completing the questionnaire, your children’s voice is important to us especially when the future of our village is concerned.
Once collated the results will be shared with the community prior to further discussions. Please select the four areas most important to you and your family and let us know why. Please add any other areas that you think we should consider in the last section.

The completed questionnaire should be returned to The Village Shop, The Royal Oak, The Lemontree Cafe or Stanmore Garage. You can also scan and email your completed questionnaire to cilqssg@gmail.com
If you cannot return your questionnaire by any of these methods please call 07939-076327 and we will arrange to collect from your home, alternatively send an email to cilqssg@gmail.com requesting collection.
Please complete and return the questionnaire by September 30th 2021 at the latest.

It should be noted that any CIL money received must be spent in accordance with CIL regulation 59C which reads:
59C. A local (parish) council must use the CIL receipts passed to it to support the development of the local council’s area, or any part of that area, by funding – a) The provision, improvement, replacement, operation or maintenance of infrastructure; or b) Anything else that is concerned with addressing the demands that development places on the area

Many thanks
Stoke St Gregory Parish Council
