The community shop continues to trade strongly. There has been increased sales of both fresh fruit and vegetables as well as chilled meat and fish. This is particularly pleasing as much of this produce is sourced locally and therefore makes a positive contribution to reducing food miles.

Jo and Carolyn are preparing Mother’s Day and Easter ‘specials’ so look out for these.

Work on renovating the Pub is progressing well with an objective of having the facilities ready by the end of March such that we can take advantage of any relaxation in the lockdown constraints as they happen.  So far access has been modified to make it wheelchair friendly; two wood burning stoves are currently being installed and flooring has been ordered. Decorating will start shortly.

Preparations are already being made in anticipation of providing service from the café.

Repointing of the external brick work will be completed shortly which will then permit removal of the scaffolding and installation of awnings at the shop.

The HOTV Committee wishes to express a continuing debt of gratitude to all volunteers both supporting shop operations and those who are helping with the pub renovations. Without your effort our success would be significantly diminished
