@2K Theatre Saddle Up for their next Production – Ladies’ Day

After the recent success of their production of The Vicar of Dibley, which has been nominated for a number of awards, @2K Theatre are getting ready and are under starter’s orders to bring live theatre to villages and towns across Taunton Deane and West Somerset, this time touring a heartwarming comedy:

Ladies’ Day by Amanda Whittington.
Work, love and life are just one long, hard slog for the fish-filleting foursome: Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda. But their fortunes are set to change when Linda finds tickets to Ladies’ Day at Royal Ascot the year it is relocated to York.

Out go the hairnets, overalls and wellies as the four ditch work, do themselves up to the nines and head off to the races for a drink, a flirt and a flutter, singing Tony Christie songs as they go. If their luck holds they could hit the jackpot – and more besides….

The group will be visiting some new venues this November, such as Stoke St Gregory (16th November), Langford Budville and Cheddon Fitzpaine, whilst returning to the Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre.
Tickets for the villages are on sale by calling the @2K Box Office on 07943 495088 or the Village Stores in Stoke St Gregory and for the Tacchi Morris Call 01823 414141 or their website.

“It will be a challenging three weeks and we are always looking for help, such as back stage, front of house or refreshments” said producer Mark Scribbins, who can be contacted on 07943 495088 if you would like to help. The group is already preparing next year’s programme, with Red Peppers and Still Life by Noel Coward being the opening show of 2018, whilst at the other end of the year we have the Christmas version of The Vicar of Dibley. There are still opportunities for any budding director to come forward for an opening in May or October and the Production team would love to hear from you.

The group hold a regular Club Night on the last Wednesday of every month and everyone is welcome to come along, and see if you would like to get involved. Its easy to contact us either by email at2k@icloud.com , phone 07943495088 or Facebook, details are on our website www.at2ktheatre.com
