The PC has received notice of a temporary road closure at Griggs Hill, between Lane End and the foot of the Hill, which will start on 15th June and “is expected to last” until 28th June.These works are for Somerset Highways to carry out surface dressing works, their works reference is LG210YBSD90765-1-02.
In practice it seems highly unlikely that road surfacing work here could last for nearly a fortnight, but it may be that Highways are conflating the closure with further work in Slough Lane. Highways have been characteristically unhelpful in not supplying information about hours of closure. The map accompanying the notice suggests a diversion via Burrowbridge whereas for most purposes Huntham Lane might offer a quicker alternative.
