For Baptists the church is the people, not the building, and here in Stoke St Gregory we are a community seeking to love and serve God, one another and those around us; to grow in faith and to make a difference in the world. Our church buildings are set on a hill towards the Western end of the village and as a fellowship we seek to shine God’s light from it.
Dating primarily from the 12th to 15th centuries, the church is situated in the heart of the village. It is an attractive building that has been well maintained by the PCC. The octagonal bell tower houses five bells and is served by an enthusiastic team of bell ringers. Our Church doors are open during daylight hours and a warm welcome is extended to all.

There are two churches in Stoke St Gregory – the parish church of St Gregory and the Baptist Church. Although we meet separately for worship Sunday by Sunday we very much celebrate the fact that we are all part of the Christian family and do as much together as we possibly can. We hold united services at Christmas, Easter, during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and other occasions throughout the year; we share Bible studies and meditations during Lent and Advent and we work together in the schools and playgroup and outreach to the village and surrounding area. We enjoy one another’s company and value each other’s traditions as we seek to share the good news of God with those around us.
