Defibrillator

There are three defibrillators in Stoke St Gregory that anyone can use in an emergency:

Village Square:The Royal Oak (locked, dial 999)
On the wall in front of the Royal Oak towardsn the RH side
Postcode: TA3 6EH, What3Words: ///comment.shorten.footpath

Curload:The Old Stores (locked, dial 999)
On the wall of the Old Stores on the left (river) side driving towards Athelney
Postcode: TA3 6JE, What3Words: ///landscape.army.complain

Meare Green: Willows and Wetlands (unlocked)
As you drive in from the road on the left hand side before the car park
Postcode: TA3 6HY, What3Words: ///wobbles.enlarge.makeup

The priority if someone’s heart has stopped is to get it going again as soon as possible, so acting quickly takes precedence over finding the perfect helper. If you find yourself looking after someone who appears to have suffered a heart attack:
    1)  ring 999 and send someone for the defibrillator (emergency services will have contacts of local helpers)
    2)  give CPR (make sure you know how—see below)
    3)  open the defibrillator and follow the voice prompts
    4)  ambulance arrives and the paramedics take over

A demonstration video showing the use of the defibrillator can be seen here.
There are a number of CPR training videos provided by the British Heart Foundation here.

There is also a bleed kit on the wall next to the Royal Oak defibrillator.
