Playing Field Trustees

The land for the playing field was given to the village in Trust as a war memorial in 1951, and has been managed ever since by the Playing Field Trustees. The PFT include representatives from the Cricket Club, the Tennis Club and the Parish Council, and as well as managing the Playing Field and the children’s playground, they organise the Stoke Stampede. The current chair of the PFT is Neil Sollis.

Cricket Club

The Cricket Club plays at home most Saturdays during the summer. Their fixture list can be seen on the calendar. For more details contact Neil Sollis.

Tennis Club

There are two courts in the corner of the playing field furthest from the gate. Annual membership of the Stoke St Gregory Tennis Club is open to all. There is coaching for children and adults. For more details visit the Facebook page or contact Kathy Davidson.

The Stoke Stampede

This 10km race takes place every year shortly after Christmas. It is the major fund-raiser for the Playing Field as well as being an important day in the village calendar. Runners come from far and wide, up to 450 of them. For more on the Stampede see the dedicated website.
