As of 1st April 2020, the Village Stores has become the Stoke St Gregory Community Shop, temporarily housed in the Shop-in-a-Box container alongside the Williams Hall. While the Covid-19 pandemic has played havoc with the plans of Heart of the Village to staff the shop with volunteers, the need for a source of supplies in the village is greater than ever, and we are aiming to maintain opening times with the help of three part-time managers: Ian, Jo and Carolyn, with help from Karen.
Monday to Friday 7:30 to 5:30 (except early closing at 1:00 on Wednesday)
Saturday 8:00 to 2:30
Sunday (and Bank Holidays) 9:00 to 12:00
For the duration of the pandemic, the shop is operating a free delivery service manned by volunteers for those who are self-isolating or otherwise in need of it. Please let them know if they can help you.

The new shop is infused with the tradition of the old Village Stores. Not only are Ian and Karen still very much a part of the team, but the stock and the ethos is founded on all the work that they did to build up the Village Stores and maintain it in very difficult circumstances as a flourishing business, answering the needs of the community. HOTV is extremely grateful to them for sticking with it until we were in a position to take over, and going well out of their way to make the transition as easy as possible.
Looking forwards, HOTV is still planning to buy the Royal Oak and establish the community shop there alongside the pub. The schedule will be affected by the pandemic, but the long-term plans are not.
