The Somerset Rivers Authority (SRA) has recently launched a consultation to ask people about their experience of flooding, their perception of risk and issues with insurance. The SRA has not included Stoke St Gregory in their default list of affected areas, but Stoke residents are still encouraged to complete the survey.

Paper copies are being distributed in Curload and are available from Gill Slattery, but anyone can complete the survey online at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/floodrisksomerset. The closing date for the consultation is 21 December.

If you live in an area that could be affected by river flooding, this is an opportunity to make your concerns and views known to those who are in a position to do something about  it. The question of insurance may be particularly significant to some, since the results of the survey are likely to inform the Flood Re scheme which aims to guarantee house insurance for those in affected areas.
